Let He Who Is Without Sin

I have to say something that is on my heart regarding Haiti.  I have read all the articles and have seen all the pictures of the devastation....God have mercy on those poor people.  The opinion that their belief in voodoo is somehow to blame for their demise is what's bothering me.

If this is true, that voodoo is the cause of their suffering, then what must be in store for us?  The United States of America?  At one time the richest nation in the world with every resource at our disposal, a church on every corner, a college education for all?  Even with all of this abundance, knowledge and prosperity we allow the killing of the helpless unborn and numerous other abominations.   Is this somehow a lesser sin than voodoo?   I think at this point in the game, it is no longer an issue as to why a certain country deserved chastisement.  We all do.  Plain and simple.  There is not one country on the face of this earth that is living completely according to the will of God. Far from it.  If anything, I think we should look at Haiti and  put on our sackcloth and ashes.  Those of us in the United States should then be quaking in our boots for what God has planned for us.
