Speaking Truth

An excerpt from my prayer journal regarding sin and speaking truth.  I think we all struggle with this...do we say something, or do we keep silent and pray?  This was very comforting and instructional. 

Dear Jesus,


Are we supposed to just allow people-children especially-to live in mortal sin, and not attempt to convince them and urge them to leave it?  Suddenly, I feel ridiculous and sinful for ignoring it and leaving them be.  We're supposed to let everyone do their own thing and placate them until they come to their senses, until they can accept the truth.  Isn't this presuming on your mercy?



My child!  You are beginning to see-sin is everywhere!  So many sit idly by, watching souls perish.  So many are living in darkness and there is no one with the courage to do battle!  The devil has deceived many into believing that sin-especially sexual sin-is tolerable and you are not to violate the free will of another.  Speaking the truth boldly is not violating another's will.  

It would be as watching a house begin to burn down, knowing there were people inside, but saying nothing-sounding no alarm-because the smell of the smoke should wake them up!  Their sleep is so deep however, they miss their opportunity for escape.  It is the very smoke itself, that you thought should wake them-that caused them to sleep so deep.  A stern voice of alarm would have jolted them to awareness.  

So many today are sleeping due to the smoke of their sin.  Their houses are burning down with them inside and they have no one to sound the alarm!  I have chosen you to sound the alarm for my sleeping children.  Your prayers and cries for mercy will be the hose and water that put out the flames!   The fire department will be the angels and saints at your disposal.  Believe this!  I will never desert one of my own when they are sent to rescue one from the flames.  All resources will be at your disposal.  You must trust in that, however-you are not to save them alone!  Call on me.

Jesus, I will go where you send me.  By Your grace and will-I will speak truth.  Just give me the courage and fortitude, love and mercy that is necessary to go into the flames!  Jesus, I trust in you!  

This pleases me child!  You are growing and awakening-there is much work to do!
